The Birmingham Institute of Qur’an and Qira’at (BIQQ) is an institute specialised in teaching the Noble Qur’an, Ten Qira’at (Qur’anic Recitations), the science of dabt (orthography) and rasm al-mushhaf (the writing form of the Qur’an). The BIQQ focuses on perfection and quality in its performance and seeks to build students who are competent in the sciences of the Qur’an and Qira’at in Europe. The institute is affiliated with the Birmingham College of Humanities, which is headquartered in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
Its motto is ‘Observing the Right of its (the Qur’ān) Recitation’, as its aim is to play an integral part in creating a generation of Muslims who recite, memorise, understand, and act upon the words of Allāh.
The British Institute of Qur’an and Qira’at was established in 2021 in Birmingham. It is dedicated to teaching the Qur’an, Ten Qira’at, and developing Qur’an teachers. Its efforts are focused on developing motivated students in several areas, including academic, ethical, and technical areas. The Institute’s vision is based on the greatly important role of teaching the Qur’an and its sciences in developing the Muslim’s character and etiquettes through the message of the Noble Qur’an, within the framework of a strong academic and educational programme.
